Training
We offer many types of training. Our trainer focuses on creating trust and a bond with each horse using many of Monty Roberts' techniques, especially "Join Up". Each horse is treated with the utmost care and worked twice a day. Each horse gets fed after morning and evening sessions. Also, each horse has access to clean, cold water 24/7 and hay or grass (depending on the time of year and field/stall).Each horse has an indiviual training program designed just for them. No horse is the same so why should their training be? What works for one does not always work for another. Alot of time and consideration goes into the construction of the horse's program after they are evaluated in the first 5 days.
1)GREEN BROKE STARTING/FINISHING Training: Green broke training is for a horse that has never been ridden or has been partially started, or for horses who have attended training else where or by the owner and just need to have extra saddle hours. Green broke training includes desensitizing to: tarps, bags, tires, dogs, balloons, four wheeler, tractor, weedeater/lawn mower, and anything else they would encounter in a daily ride or situation. Also, they learn to be lunged, long lined with a bit and surcingle, stand quietly for the saddle and bridle to be put on and taken off and for a rider to mount and dismount. Finally, the last thing done is putting all the peices together and teaching the hors to be calm and responsive to the rider on its back and to be safe for the owner when it returns home.
Green Broke Training: $300-30 days
2)RACKING HORSE Training: Racking horse training prepares the horse to enter the show circuit. We teach them to set their head, rack consistently, advise the owner on shoeing style and classes to enter, as well as what association the horse would fit best in and to help them to get into the circut and association of their choice.
Racking Horse Training: $350-30 days
3)Barrel Horse Training:Barrel horse training prepares the horse to enter the competitive world of rodeo/showing. We teach the horse to run as fast as he/she physically can, then we teach them to turn very quickly and sharply. Finally, we combine the two with the end result being a competent barrel horse who is not only fast but controlable at a high speed while turning.
Barrel Horse Training: $325-30 days
*Please note barrel horse training is not breaking the horse then teaching them to barrel race, it is for already riding horses. If you would like your young/unbroke horse to be a barrel horse you may pay for 30 days of green broke training and then 30 days of barrel horse training.
4)BUGGY/CART HORSE Training: Buggy horse training teaches the horse to pull a buggy/cart quietly and calmly in any situation. We teach them to long line with a bit with buggy reins. Then we add a training cart to teach them to be calm though he/she will be pulling something that may be heavy or poke them at times. Then we put both together to make a smart and dependable buggy horse.
Buggy/Cart Horse Training: $275-30 days
*Please not buggy/cart horse training is NOT breaking the horse then teaching them to pull a cart/buggy, it is for already calm horses that are not typically spooky or green. If you would like your young/unbroke horse to be a buggy/cart horse you may pay for 30 days of green broke training then 30 days of buggy/cart training.
5)PROBLEM HORSE Training: Problem horse training is for horses who have a problem with specific issues such as:moving around while you try to mount, bad ground manners (biting, kicking, running you over while leading, etc.), head tossing, pawing, trailering, etc. After their time in training they will be over all of their "problems"
